XTERRA sets sights on Sugarbush event

XTERRA sets sights on Sugarbush event: Bennington Banner

XTERRA is headed to Warren, Vermont for the second installment of the 2009 XTERRA New England Trail Run Series on July 11th. The inaugural XTERRA Sugarbush Xduro is a half-marathon distance trail run through the beautiful landscape of Sugarbush Resort and promises to offer runners an incredible racing experience.
As part of the XTERRA Northeast Cup, the trail run event will kick off an entire weekend full of excitement including two distances of off-road triathlons, a kid’s duathlon and relay team challenges. Race director Chad Denning describes the Xduro course as something runners won’t want to miss.
“The trail run is a roller coaster of emotions. It will have your heart in your throat a couple of times during this point to point course. Then comes the tight, twisty singletrack that will keep you grinning from ear to ear. Runners will experience 21-kilometers of some of the best trails that central Vermont has to offer, leading to high vistas through maple sap lines and great views of the Mad River Valley. This event will be a Northeast staple for years to come.”
The XTERRA Sugarbush Xduro will be the second of three races in the 2009 XTERRA New England Trail Run Series giving runners just one more chance to earn points toward their series totals. Those ending the season with the highest scores will be rewarded with a Regional Champion title and free entry to this year’s XTERRA Trail Running National Championship on September 13 in Bend, Oregon.
